Roslyn Russell undertakes a range of voluntary work for organisations associated with history and heritage. These include Manning Clark House, the UNESCO Australian Memory of the World program, the Australian Council of Professional Historians Association and Women’s History Month Historians’ Reference Group.

Member, UNESCO Australian Memory of the World Committee, and chair, Assessment Sub-Committee After the IAC meeting in China, Roslyn was also appointed Chair of the UNESCO Memory of the World Register Sub-Committee. In September 2005 Roslyn travelled to Cheongju City in the Republic of Korea for an international seminar on the preservation of documentary heritage; and the presentation of the UNESCO Jikji Prize.
