UNESCO Memory of the World Programme

Roslyn Russell is the Rapporteur of the International Advisory Committee of the UNESCO Memory of the World Programme; and Chair of its Register Sub-Committee (RSC). She liaises with the Register Secretariat and other members of the RSC to assess nominations to the International Memory of the World Register; and in drafting criteria, guidelines and other instructional tools for those wishing to nominate documentary heritage of world significance to the Register.

 


The Story of the Kelly Gang film of 1906 has recently been inscribed on the UNESCO Memory of the World Register, along with the Convict Records of Australia.

UNESCO Australian Memory of the World Committee

Roslyn Russell has been a member of the UNESCO Australian Memory of the World Committee (www.amw.org.au) since its inception in 2000, and chairs its Assessment Sub-Committee, which also includes Margaret Anderson, Maggie Shapley, Rod Stroud and Dr Linda Young. The Sub-Committee assesses nominations to the UNESCO Australian Memory of the World Register.

Significance Assessment, Adventist Heritage Collection, Avondale College, Cooranbong, NSW

Roslyn Russell is working on a significance assessment for a 2006 Community Heritage Grant, on the archives of the Seventh-day Adventist Church South Pacific Division and South Sea Islands Museum.
